Eight series of the JKS publications are assigned with International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) for electronic publications.

All JKS databases - including Japan Approvals Database (JAD), JAD Extended Databases, and JAD Demo Databases are protected by both copyright and database rights, and hence there are no provisions for fair dealing for the purposes of individual research or private study, as any access or use of the databases is treated as a research for a commercial purpose.
